Warm Springs Historic District

Enjoy shopping, dining and The Little White House in the Warm Springs Historic District. The Little White House is part of Georgia's state park system. It has been preserved to look almost exactly as it did when President Franklin D. Roosevelt died in the house on April 12, 1945. Items on display at the facility include the Unfinished Portrait, and FDR's customized 1938 Ford convertible with hand controls, a theater, and his stagecoach. The Little White House is open from 9 a.m. — 4:45 p.m. daily and closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Call 706-655-5870 for information or to schedule a guided tour.

Columbus, GA

Experience Southern hospitality in nearby Columbus. Walk, jog or bike along the 15-mile Chattahoochee RiverWalk; enjoy whitewater rafting on the Chattahoochee; visit the Trade Center, or stop by the Columbus Museum (the second-largest museum in Georgia). Take an interactive journey through every war fought by the U.S. in the last two centuries at the National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center at Patriot Park, which contains one of the largest collections of military art and artifacts. You can also view movies like never before in the IMAX theater, or find a unique souvenir in the gift shop.

Fishing

Beautiful trails encompass the lakes and rivers in west Georgia, making it one of the most picturesque locations for fishing.
